This Special Instruction outlines the installation procedure for a 471-1985 Swivel Guard Upgrade Kit on certain excavators listed above.

Servicing position of an Excavator

1. Place the machine in the servicing position. Refer to the appropriate Operation and Maintenance Manual for the proper procedure.

Installation Procedure

(1) 134-8876 Plate As (2) 134-8878 Plate As (3) 8C-8992 Locking Bolt (4) 5P-1076 Hard Washer

1. Install 134-8876 Plate As (1) to the lower frame.

2. Install 134-8878 Plate As (2) to the lower frame.

3. Install five 5P-1076 Hard Washers (4) and five 8C-8992 Locking Bolts (3) to secure plate assemblies (1) and (2).
