Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.



NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


  1. Isolate the electric power generation set. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Generator Isolating for Maintenance" for the correct procedure.

  2. Disconnect the harness assembly and remove filtered engine oil pressure sensor (1).

  3. Remove the O-ring seal from the engine oil pressure sensor.

  4. Disconnect the harness assembly and remove unfiltered engine oil pressure sensor (2).

  5. Remove the O-ring seal from the engine oil pressure sensor.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install engine oil pressure sensors (1) and (2) in the reverse order of removal. tighten to a torque of

    1. Tighten engine oil pressure sensors (1) and (2) to a torque of 10 ± 2 N·m (89 ± 18 lb in).
