Description of Change: The new adapter has more surface area and creates a better seal.

Adaptable To: The new 434-3759 Adapter replaces the 123-6905 Adapter in the above engines.

The former 123-6905 Adapter is canceled.

The new 434-3759 Adapter is adaptable to the above engines back to first production.

This change is effective on 3July 2013 for transmissions TH55FT-E70 PCJ.

This change is effective with the engine serial numbers listed in Table 1.

Rework Procedure

The new parts required to resolve oil leak on the 123-6905 Adapter are listed in Table 2.

1. Locate drain hole (1) in the engine flywheel housing.

2. Tap this hole with a 5/8 - 11 tap to a depth of at least 12.7 mm (0.5inch).

3. Screw a 3B-8602 Setscrew into the hole. Make sure that the setscrew is flush with the surface. The setscrew should not be above the surface.

4. Remove the setscrew. Apply high strength thread lock compound 154-9731 Thread Lock Compound to the setscrew.

5. Install the setscrew into the hole and tighten the setscrew.
