Introduction
The PAS rework provides information to seal the platform and prevent debris from the compartment where the components are located.
Important Safety Information
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin. |
Accidental engine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the equipment. To avoid accidental engine starting, disconnect the battery cable from the negative (−) battery terminal. Completely tape all metal surfaces of the disconnected battery cable end in order to prevent contact with other metal surfaces which could activate the engine electrical system. Place a Do Not Operate tag at the Start/Stop switch location to inform personnel that the equipment is being worked on. |
Personal injury or death can occur from heavy components falling during removal or installation. Properly support the component with a suitable lifting device during removal or installation. |
Do not operate or work on this work tool unless you have read and understand the instructions and warnings in the Operation And Maintenance Manual for both the work tool and the host machine. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Contact your Caterpillar dealer for replacement manuals. Proper care is your responsibility. |
Personal injury or death can result from improper assembly procedures. Do not attempt any assembly until you have read and understand the assembly instructions. |
NOTICE |
---|
Before carrying out arc welding on the machine or on any equipment attached to the machine, disconnect all power and ground leads from the batteries in order to avoid possible damage to electronic components. |
Reference Refer to Special Instruction, REHS1841, "General Welding Procedures" anytime welding is needed.
