Improved Software is Now Used for Petroleum Fracturing Transmissions {7620}

Usage:

TH48-E80 FRT
Pumper:
SPF343C (S/N: RTX1-UP)
Petroleum Transmission:
CX48-P2300 (S/N: GDH1-UP)
TH48-E70 (S/N: JGC1-UP; KSH1-UP)
TH48-E80 (S/N: FRT1-UP)
TH55FT-E70 (S/N: PCJ1-UP)
TH55FT-E90 (S/N: THE1-UP)

Description of Change: The new 431-9645 Power Train Software Gp includes features to allow modified management of J1939 diagnostic trouble codes. Also, a feature to automatically protect the transmission from over temperature events.

Note: A new CX48-P2300 Petroleum Transmission has recently been introduced that uses the new software. The 431-9645 Power Train Software Gp or higher software group is required for this new transmission.

Adaptable To: The new 431-9645 Power Train Software Gp is effective with the following Petroleum Transmissions and Pumper:

  • CX48-P2300 (S/N: GDH1-UP)

  • TH48-E70 (S/N: JGC321-UP; KSH317-UP)

  • TH48-E80 (S/N: FRT1437-UP)

  • TH55-E70 (S/N: PCJ2386-UP)

  • TH55-E90 (S/N: THE331-UP)

  • SPF343C (S/N: RTX895-UP)

The new 431-9645 Power Train Software Gp is adaptable to the following Petroleum Transmissions and Pumper:

  • TH48-E70 (S/N: JGC1-320; KSH1-316)

  • TH48-E80 (S/N: FRT1-1436)

  • TH55-E70 (S/N: PCJ1-2385)

  • TH55-E90 (S/N: THE1-330)

  • SPF343C (S/N: RTX1-894)

431-9645 Power Train Software Gp has been released with the following feature changes:

  • New application code (8000) for the CX48-P2300 Petroleum Transmission

  • High temperature neutral configuration feature

  • Modification of diagnostic trouble code clearing through J1939 DM1 message

When enabled thru Cat® ET configuration, the high temperature neutral configuration feature automatically shifts the transmission to neutral if the torque converter outlet temperature exceeds 130° C (266° F). The transmission shifter must command neutral and torque converter outlet temperature must be less than 100° C (212° F) before additional shifting is allowed.

The modification of diagnostic trouble code clearing through J1939 DM1 message feature allows the customer controller to acknowledge a select list of lower severity diagnostic trouble codes. The customer can then control the codes so the codes do not repeatedly display in the operator station.

The 431-9645 Power Train Software Gp contains updates required for calibration of the CX48-P2300 Petroleum Transmission. The 417-1653 Power Train Software Gp is not compatable with the CX48-P2300 Petroleum Transmission.

Note: Flashing the 431-9645 Power Train Software Gp or the 417-1653 Power Train Software Gp on ECM's with the 380-8929 Power Train Software Gp or older software will result in inaccuracies in transmission histogram tables.
