3000 Frame Generator

The 3000 Frame generator has the following characteristics:

  • Three phase alternating current

  • Two bearings

  • Brushless type

  • Form wound

  • Four pole

The close coupling adapter is assembled to the engine flywheel housing. A flexible coupling connects the rotor shaft to the engine flywheel. The rotating main field is keyed directly to the rotor shaft.

The SR5 generator is a self-ventilated generator. Air enters the generator through screened guards that are located at the rearward end of the generator. Air exits the generator through screened guards that are located at the drive coupling end of the generator. The fan attaches to rotor shaft. The rotor bearing supports the exciter end of the rotor shaft.

Note: All 3000 frame generators have two bearings. The 3000 frame generators will have a bearing at each end of the generator rotor shaft.

Generator Voltage Specifications

3000 frame generators are available in medium and high voltage configurations.

Medium voltage applications include the following voltage options:

  • 2400 V

  • 3300 V

  • 4160 V

High voltage applications include the following voltage options:

  • 6,300 V

  • 6,600 V

  • 6,900 V

  • 10,000 V

  • 10,500 V

  • 11,000 V

  • 12,470 V

  • 13,200 V

  • 13,800 V

Voltage and frequency combinations are differentiated by generator part numbers.

3000 frame generators operate at 2.5 MW to 5 MW power range.
