NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. The engine can have the ability to auto start. Ensure that the power supply is isolated before any service or repairs is performed.

  2. Place a suitable container below the engine oil filter base in order to catch any oil that might be spilled.

  3. Use Tooling (A) to remove engine oil filter (7). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change".

  4. Remove bolts (4).

  5. Remove engine oil filter base (2).

  6. Remove gasket (1).

  7. If necessary, remove plug (6) from engine oil filter base (2). Remove O-ring seal (5) from the plug.

Installation Procedure

  1. Clean engine oil filter base (2). Clean the gasket surfaces of the cylinder block and oil filter base.

  2. If necessary, install new O-ring seal (5) to plug (6). Install plug (6) to engine oil filter base (2). Tighten the plugs to a torque of 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  3. Install bolts (4) to engine oil filter base (2).

  4. Install a new gasket (1) onto bolts (4). Install the assembly of the engine oil filter base to the cylinder block.

  5. Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  6. Install a new engine oil filter (7) and check the level of the engine lubricating oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil Level - Check" for the correct procedure.
