Housing (Front) - Remove

Usage:

C9 KLW

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the fan drive, if necessary. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Drive - Remove".

  2. Remove the fuel filter base. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Filter Base - Remove and Install ".

  3. Remove the unit injector hydraulic pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Unit Injector Hydraulic Pump - Remove".

  4. Remove the auxiliary water pump, if necessary. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Auxiliary Water Pump - Remove".

  5. Remove the air compressor, if necessary. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Compressor - Remove and Install".

  6. Remove the crankshaft front seal. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Front Seal - Remove".

  7. Remove the camshaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Camshaft - Remove".


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Disconnect harness assemblies (1) and (2).

  2. Remove bolts (5).

  3. Remove bolts (3).

  4. Remove front housing (4).
