C18 Marine Auxiliary Engines Caterpillar

Diagnostic Code Cross Reference

Usage:

C18 GBM
Problems with specific engine subsystems can be reported via flash codes, diagnostic trouble codes, or event codes. Flash codes also provide an indication of a problem with a specific engine subsystem. Diagnostic trouble codes provide information on the engine subsystem and information that is related to the failure mode of the problem. Event codes report events that are related to the operation of the engine.

Table 1 lists the cross-reference information that is necessary to locate the specific test procedure that will assist in diagnosing electrical problems and events for the engine subsystems. In order to diagnose a problem with a flash code that is known, locate the flash code in the table and perform the related test procedure that is listed.

For information on diagnostic codes, refer to Troubleshooting, "Diagnostic Trouble Code List".

For information on event codes, refer to Troubleshooting, "Event Code List".
