Vibration Damper and Pulley - Remove and Install

  1. Remove belt (3) from vibration damper (1).

  2. Remove two bolts (2) and install Tooling (A).

  3. Remove bolts (4).

  4. Slide first vibration damper (1) forward. Attach a suitable lifting device onto first vibration damper (1). The weight of vibration damper (1) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb). Remove first vibration damper (1) and the spacers from adapter (5).

  5. Remove the pulley.

  6. Slide second vibration damper (1) forward. Attach a suitable lifting device onto second vibration damper (1). The weight of vibration damper (1) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb). Remove second vibration damper (1) and the spacer from adapter (5).

  7. Remove remaining bolts (2) and adapter (5).

  1. Install Tooling (A) in the crankshaft.

  2. Position adapter (5) on Tooling (A) and install the washers and bolts (2).

  3. Attach a suitable lifting device onto second vibration damper (1). The weight of vibration damper (1) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb). Position the spacer and second vibration damper (1) on adapter (5).

  4. Install the pulley.

  5. Attach a suitable lifting device onto first vibration damper (1). The weight of vibration damper (1) is approximately 34 kg (75 lb). Position the spacers and first vibration damper (1) on adapter (5).

  6. Install bolts (4). Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 135 ± 20 N·m (100 ± 15 lb ft).

  7. Remove Tooling (A) and install the two washers and bolts (2). Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 215 ± 40 N·m (159 ± 30 lb ft).

  8. Install belt (3) on vibration damper (1).
