Rework Procedure
1. Fabricate four plates, 2 of Plate A and 2 of Plate B, as shown in Illustrations 1 and 2. Use structural steel with a 42000 psi yield strength.
2. Park the machine on a flat surface and block both ends of the track.
3. Remove paint from the rear track roller frame where the plates will be welded.
4. Grind the existing welds flush with side plate and bottom rail as shown in Illustration 3.
5. Locate the plates as shown in Illustration 4.
NOTE: The bottom of the plates should not protrude below the rail. The chamfer allows the plate to be flush against the side plate, rail and equalizer bar end pin mounting plates.
6. Weld plates in position as shown in Illustration 5.
NOTE: Use HD111 core wire (for wire feed welders) or E7018 rod electrodes. Both welds must conform to AWS Class E7018 or E7028.
7. Clean and paint the welds.
