Hydraulic System Oil Filter (Case Drain) - Replace - Wheel Brakes and Lower Manifold

The hydraulic filter for the wheel brakes and the lower manifold is located on the side of the fuel tank.

(1) Pressure gauge

(2) Case drain filter

  • Start the engine.

    1. Check pressure gauge (1). If the needle on the pressure gauge is in the red portion of the gauge, filter (2) should be replaced.

    1. Clean the area in order to keep dirt out of the filter base.

    1. Remove used hydraulic filter (2) from the filter base.

      Note: This element is a cartridge type filter. The element cannot be reused.

      Note: Dispose of used filters according to local regulations.

    1. Clean the filter base.

    1. Coat the seal of a new hydraulic filter with clean hydraulic oil. Install the new hydraulic filter in the filter base. Tighten the hydraulic filter hand tight.

    1. Drive the machine slowly for 10 to 15 minutes. Shift the transmission and apply the brakes several times.

    1. Return the machine to the position that is shown above. Check the machine for oil leaks.

    1. Stop the engine.

    1. Open the access door on the right side of the machine in order to access the sight gauge.

      (A) High Temperature Range. (B) Low Temperature Range.

    1. Maintain the oil level in the low temperature range for a cold machine. Maintain the oil level in the high temperature range for a machine that is at a normal operating temperature.

    1. Slowly loosen the filler plug in order to relieve any pressure. Remove the filler plug in order to add oil, if necessary.

    1. Clean the filler plug. Install the filler plug.

    1. Close the access door.
