Usage:
NOTE: Put 9S3263 Thread Lock on the threads of all studs before installing in the block:
(1) Thickness of spacer plate ... .5110 ± .0010 in.(12.979 ± 0.025 mm)
Torque for two bolts through rear of each spacer plate (1) into the block ... 35 ± 5 lb. ft.(45 ± 7 N·m)
Thickness of gasket between spacer plate (1) and block ... .008 ± .001 in.(0.20 ± 0.03 mm)
NOTE: There must not be any fuel, water, oil, gasket adhesive or any other material on the bottom of the plate, top of the block and both sides of gasket during assembly.
For height of liner over spacer plate (1), make reference to CYLINDER LINER PROJECTION.
(2) Torque for studs (with 9S3263 Thread Lock on the threads) ... 20 ± 3 lb. ft.(25 ± 4 N·m)

Torque for nuts holding caps for main bearings:
Tighten bearing nuts in sequence ... A, B, C, D
a. Put 5P960 Grease or crankcase oil on threads and washers.
b. Tighten all nuts in correct sequence to ... 60 ± 5 lb. ft.(80 ± 7 N·m)
c. Put mark on each nut and end of studs.
d. Tighten all nuts in correct sequence from mark ... 120°
(7) Torque for bolt holding piston cooling tube ... 35 ± 5 lb. ft.(45 ± 7 N·m)
Minimum permissible clearance between piston and piston cooling tube ... .025 in.(0.64 mm)
