This special instruction provides the information and procedure required to install storage compartments that improve operator comfort.

Safety

Do not perform any procedure until you read the information and you understand the information. Use only proper tools and observe all precautions that pertain to the use of those tools. Failure to follow these procedures can result in personal injury. The following procedures should also be observed.

Prepare for Rework

  1. Move the machine to a hard flat surface. Place the transmission in neutral and set the parking brake.

  1. Lower all implements to the ground and shut off the engine.

  1. Chock the wheels.

  1. Turn the power disconnect switch to the OFF Position.

  1. Remove the existing floor mat (A) and discard.

  1. Remove four plastic plugs from square holes in the floor plate.

  1. Install clip (1) into 4 square holes. Two holes are located on each side of the floor.

  1. Install new floor mat as (2) into the cab.

    This view shows right-hand bin (6) as an example. The assembly process is the same for left-hand bin (5) .

  1. Install studs (3) into each mounting hole of storage bin (5) and storage bin (6) .

  1. Install one retainer (4) onto each stud in order to secure each stud to the storage bin.

  1. Install left-hand storage bin (5) and right-hand storage bin (6) into the new floor mat as (2) .

  1. Secure each storage bin to the cab floor by installing stud (3) into clip (1). Push the stud in and lock into place.

  1. Install left-hand liner (7) into left-hand storage bin (5) and right-hand liner (8) into right-hand storage bin (6) .

  1. Remove lunch tray (D) and plate assembly (E) from the right-hand side of the seat. Retain the plate assembly mounting hardware.

  1. Install clip (1) into square holes in new plate assembly (9) in two places.

  1. Remove existing clamps (G) from support (H) and retain clamps (G) and the hardware for reassembly. Remove bolts (J) and retain for reassembly. Discard support (H) .

  1. Position the heater and air conditioning hoses as shown. Install plate assembly (9) onto the cab floor, using bolts (J). Connect the heater and air conditioning hoses to plate assembly (9) using hose clips (G) and the retained hardware.

  1. Install two cup inserts (10) into new storage tray (11) as shown.

    (K) 172 mm (6.8 inch)

    (L) 150 mm (5.9 inch)

  1. Install five buttons (12) on storage the bottom of storage tray (11) using the dimensions provided above to locate the five buttons.

  1. Install two studs (3) into the mounting holes in storage tray (11) .

  1. Turn the tray over and secure two studs (3) using one retainer (4) on each stud.

  1. Install two straps (13) into storage tray (11) .

    Note: Step 18 is not used on M Series 3 machines.

  1. Install one strap (14) into storage tray (11) .

  1. Install storage tray (11) onto plate assembly (9). Secure the storage tray using two studs (3) that were previously installed onto the storage tray.

Installation of Head Liner Storage Compartments for M and M Series 2 Machines

Same as M Series 3 storage solution plus the headliner storage that is shown below.

  1. Remove four headliner screws (A) .

  1. Install one storage tray (15) using the four screws that were removed in the previous step.

  1. Install storage net (16) onto the storage tray.

  1. Thread each metal anchor through a hole from the front side.

  1. Allow the anchor to flatten out on the rear side of the shelf face.

M and M Series 2 Machines Equipped with a WAVS Camera Display

  1. Use the WAVS Camera Display hardware to install the WAVS Camera Display into the four hole pattern shown above.

  1. Attach the WAVS Camera Display using the existing hardware.

  1. Route the harness over the mirror and secure the harness at the notch in the shelf. Use strap (17) to secure the wire.
