NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Attach Tooling (A) and suitable lifting devices to cab (19). The weight of cab (19) is approximately 1270 kg (2800 lb). Use Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting devices in order to position cab (19) onto the machine.

  2. Connect harness assembly (21).

  3. Install bolts (20). Use Tooling (B) in order to install bolts (20) that are surrounded by the fuel tanks.

    Note: If you use Tooling (B), tighten bolts (20) to a torque of 548 ± 68 N·m (405 ± 50 lb ft).

  4. Position step assembly (18) and install bolts (17). Repeat this step for the opposite side of the machine.

  5. Install bolt (16) and harness assembly (15).

  6. Install cover (14).

  7. Connect harness assemblies (13) and harness assemblies (12).

  9. Connect ground strap (10).

  10. Position cover (9) and install bolts (8). Repeat this step for the opposite side of the machine.

  11. Install clip (7), clip (6), and clips (5). Connect hose assemblies (4).

  12. Connect hoses (3). Connect harness assemblies (2).

  13. Install cover (1).

  14. Charge the air conditioner refrigerant into the air conditioner system. refer to Service Manual , SENR5664, "Air Conditioning and Heating Systems with R-134a for All Caterpillar Machines" for the correct procedure. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the correct tools.

End By:

  1. Separate the steering frame lock.
