Gear Motor (Vibratory) - Disassemble

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the gear motor (vibratory). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Motor (Vibratory) - Remove".

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

    Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.

    Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.

    Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.

  1. Remove screw (5), spring (4), and ball (3) from housing (2) .

  1. Repeat Step 1 on screw (1) .

  1. Mark the orientation of cover (6) and housing (2). Remove bolts (7) and carefully separate cover (6) from housing (2) .

  1. Remove driven gear (11) and drive gear (8) from cover (6) .

  1. Remove dowel pins (9) and (10) from cover (6) .

  1. Remove gasket (12) from cover (6). Remove bearings (13) from cover (6), if necessary.

  1. Remove woodruff key (14) from shaft (15). Use Tooling (A) to remove retaining ring (16) .

  1. Use a suitable press to remove shaft (15) from housing (2) .

  1. Remove shaft seal (19) and spacer (18) from shaft (15) .

  1. Use Tooling (B) in order to remove bearing (17) from shaft (15) .

  1. Remove needle bearings (20) from housing (2), if necessary.
