Radiator Core - Remove

Start By:

  1. Remove the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove and Install".

  2. Remove the cowling. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Cowling (Radiator) - Remove and Install".

  3. Remove the aftercoolers. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Aftercooler - Remove".

  1. Drain the coolant into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".

  2. Remove tube assemblies (1), (2), (3), and (6). Disconnect hoses (4) and (5).

  3. Remove upper fan guards (7) and (8). Remove bolts (9).

  4. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to radiator top tank (10). The weight of radiator top tank (10) is approximately 113 kg (250 lb).

  5. Remove bolts (11) from each side of the front of the radiator. Repeat for the rear of the radiator. Remove bolts (12) from each side of the radiator. Remove top tank (10). Remove seals (13).

  6. Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to a radiator core (14). The weight of radiator cores (14) is approximately 33 kg (73 lb). The weight of the outer two radiator cores is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).

  7. Remove radiator core (16) and seal (17).
