New Hydromechanical Shut-Off Is Available

Usage:

D379, D398 and D399 Industrial Engines

Description of Change: A new hydromechanical shut-off is used on D379, D398 and D399 Industrial Engines. This shut-off gives protection from damage caused by low oil pressure, high coolant temperature and too high engine rpm. Sometimes, control cable failures in the former mechanical shut-offs prevented engine shutdown. The new hydromechanical shut-off is equipped with an oil pump to give the necessary oil pressure for a rack shut-off and an air inlet shut-off.

Adaptable To: Earlier engines as shown in the chart which follows. See Special Instruction SMHS7434. Information about operation, specifications and troubleshooting is available in the D379, D398 and D399 Service Manual Form No. SEBR0511.
