Engine Speed/Timing Sensor - Clean/Inspect

(1) Speed/timing sensor (camshaft)
(2) Speed/timing sensor (crankshaft)

  1. Remove the speed/timing sensors.

  2. Inspect the condition of the plastic end of the speed/timing sensors for wear and/or contaminants.

  3. Clean the metal shavings and other debris from the face of the speed/timing sensors.

  4. Install the speed/timing sensors. Ensure that the sensor is seated before the bolt is tightened. Tighten each bolt to a torque of 28 ± 7 N·m (21 ± 5 lb ft).
