Check and Adjust

NOTE: The following initial adjustments on new, rebuilt or remanufactured engines are recommended at the "First 1000 Service Hours or Six Months, Whichever Occurs First."

When an additional 1000 service hours registers on service hour meter or six months interval occurs for a total of 2000 service hours or one year, repeat the adjustment procedures.

Subsequent adjustments should be made at an interval of "Every 2000 Service Hours or One Year, Whichever Occurs First."

Governor

Check set point (1) and low idle rpm.

Air-Fuel Ratio Control

Check setting (2) and have adjusted by an authorized Caterpillar dealer.

These adjustments are to be made only by an authorized Caterpillar engine dealer or a mechanic that has the correct training.
