Proper Welding Procedures Are Necessary To Avoid Damage To Electronic Controls {0351}

Usage:

AP-650 (9DN),
BG-225C (5GN),
AP-1000B (7HN),
BG-260C (8GN),
AP-1050B (6ZN),
BG-245C (4XN),
AP-1055B (8BM),
BG-2455C (6TN) Asphalt Pavers

The following steps should be used when welding on any machines equipped with electronic controls:

1. Turn off the engine and put the key start switch in the OFF position.

2. Disconnect the NEGATIVE battery cable at the battery or, if the machine has a battery disconnect switch, turn it off.

3. Connect the welder ground cable directly to the machine member to be welded. Place the cable as close as possible to the member to be welded to reduce the possibility of welding current damage to drive train bearings, hydraulic components, electrical components or other machine components.

4. Protect any wiring harness from weld spatter or debris.

5. Use standard welding procedures to weld material together.

NOTE: Do NOT use electronic components (ECM's, Sensors) or any other control systems as the grounding point when welding on the machine.
