Usage:
start by:
a) remove pistons
1. Pull the cylinder liner loose from the cylinder block with tooling (A).
2. Remove tooling (A) and cylinder liner.
Install Cylinder Liners
1. Install liners into block. Do not install O-rings on liners at this time.
2. Install puller plate (1), crossbar (5), plates (4), spacers (3) and two cylinder head nuts (2) as shown. Tighten nuts (2) evenly in four equal amounts to 50 lb. ft. (70 N·m).
3. Put measuring tool (6) on gauge block (7) and move dial indicator to zero position.
4. Check cylinder liner projection at four locations around the cylinder liner as shown. The liner projection must be .004 to .008 in. (0.10 to 0.20 mm). The four measurements must not be different by more than .002 in. (0.05 mm). Projection between liners next to each other must not be different by more than .002 in. (0.05 mm). The difference in the average cylinder liner projection of all liners under one cylinder head must not be more than .003 in. (0.08 mm).
NOTE: If liner projection is not correct, turn liner in the bore or move liner to a different bore in the cylinder block.
5. After liner projection has been checked, put a mark across cylinder liner next to "V" mark on cylinder block. Remove the cylinder liners.
6. Install the O-rings on bottom of liners.
7. Put liquid soap on the O-ring seals and in the bore of the cylinder block.
8. Install liner in cylinder block and push it into place with tool group (B).

Be sure cylinder liner is installed in the exact same location from which it was removed after checking cylinder liner projection. |
