March 2006 ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNITS Announcement Cat Reman announces the addition of the following ECU (electronic control units) families to their current product offering: ADEM? I, ADEM II, EMCP I. These ECUs are available for various on-highway truck engines and machine, industrial, marine, and genset applications. Through state-of-the-art recycling and remanufacturing techniques, these ECUs lower owning and operating costs. The ECUs are upgraded to the current product capability and carry the standard Caterpillar? parts warranty. Additional product offerings are coming. Availability Dealers may find no stock of the Reman parts if they query the system but all part numbers listed in the table are available through normal distribution channels. Caterpillar will seed as needed until sufficient core is available. To allow customers to benefit from the lower priced Reman parts, we recommend parts managers evaluate inventory controls in place and consider updating any automatic orders to replenish with the Reman parts. Core Acceptance Core Acceptance Criteria SELD0032-05 has been developed specifically for electronic controls and can be found in the Core Acceptance Guideline section of the Reman Products Guide. Also refer to other CMIS 2 inquiry applications such as Customer Profiles, Inspection Reason Codes, Inspection Line Inquiry, Add Charge Information, Entitlement Activity, Entitlement Inquiry, CCR Inquiry, CCR Entry, Shipment Processing; Process Packaging Grief, and Reporting to properly manage core returns and monitor inspection performance. This information will be available to all dealers worldwide after your CMIS 2 conversion date.
