EID 1509 High Long Range Object Detection Sensor #1 Temperature
Follow this procedure if an event EID 1509High Long Range Object Detection Sensor #1 Temperature occurs. When this event code is activated, the Autonomous Mining Truck (AMT) will come to a complete controlled stop. This event code is caused when the Light Detection And Ranging (LiDAR) sensor on the front of the machine is reporting an internal temperature above the acceptable
Test Step 1. VISUALLY INSPECT THE LIDAR SENSOR FOR NOTICEABLE BLOCKAGE.
Dust, mud, ice or other debris can insulate the LiDAR causing the time to return to an acceptable temperature to increase.
- Ensure that the truck is parked in a level location and keyed OFF.
Expected Result:
Blockage is visually apparent.
Results:
- Dust, mud, ice or other debris is visible on the lens LiDAR. - Proceed to Test Step 2.
- No visible blockage or obstruction can be seen. - Proceed to Test Step 3.
Test Step 2. CLEAN LIDAR SENSOR LENSES.
- Remove any loose debris from lens or enclosure.
- Using a non-abrasive soap and water gently clean debris from glass.
Note: Be extremely careful to avoid scratching glass.
- Inspect to ensure that the glass is clear of any debris, scratches or other obstructions.
- Clean enclosure and housing to remove any remaining mud, dust or other debris.
Expected Result:
LiDAR sensor is clean of debris and clear of any visible blockage or scratches.
Results:
- LiDAR sensor is clean of debris and clear of any visible blockage or scratches. - Proceed to Test Step 3.
- LiDAR sensor cannot be cleaned. The cause of the problem is uncertain. Contact Caterpillar technical support with the information that has been gathered - STOP
Test Step 3. RESTART SYSTEM.
- Key ON the machine and verify status of event.
Expected Result:
EID 1509 cleared.
Results:
- EID 1509 cleared - STOP
- EID 1509 still appears. LiDAR has been cleaned. -
Repair: Allow the LiDAR to warm up in a sheltered location with truck turned ON.
STOP
- EID 1509 still appears, LiDAR is clean, and environmental operating temperature is within an acceptable range, the cause of the problem is uncertain. Contact Caterpillar technical support with the information that has been gathered - STOP
