Conditions Which Generate This Code:

EID 1487 High Autonomous Control Module Core Temperature

Follow this procedure if an event EID 1487 High Autonomous Control Module Core Temperature occurs. When this event code is activated, the Autonomous Mining Truck (AMT) will come to a complete controlled stop. This event is activated when the internal sensor in one of the Autonomous Control Modules (Auto ECMs) reports an excessive temperature. Prior to troubleshooting this event code, ensure EID 1483 Low Autonomous cabinet fan speed and EID 1330 High Autonomous Cabinet Temperature are not active.

Test Step 1. CLEAN EXTERIOR OF AUTO ECM

Inspect the exterior of the Auto ECMs for excessive dust, dirt, or debris.

Results:

  • Excessive dust, dirt, or debris is visible on the exterior of the Auto ECMs. -

    Repair: Clear excessive dust, dirt, or debris buildup on ALL sides of the Auto ECMs. Restart the system.

    STOP

  • No buildup visible on the Auto ECMs. - Proceed to Test Step 2

Test Step 2. COLLECT DIAGNOSTIC DETAIL INFORMATION.

  1. Open Cat MineStar System client.

  2. Go to "Contents" > "pit link" > "Field Communications Monitor".

  3. Select the comms item that displays EID 1487.

    • Collect event time from Cat ET and match to time in Cat MineStar System client.

    • In the diagnostic detail:"ComponentID"=1487 and "FailureModeDescription" = "High Autonomous Control Module Core Temperature".

  4. Once selected, the diagnostic detail message will display in the bottom left of the screen. Record the information under "extendedTexts" section.

    Note: This information will be helpful when proceeding through the process.

Expected Result:

Diagnostic details collected.

Results:

  • Diagnostic details collected. - Proceed to Test Step 3

  • Diagnostic details are not available. The cause of the problem is uncertain. Contact Caterpillar technical support with the information that has been gathered. - STOP

Test Step 3. REPLACE OVERHEATING AUTO ECM.

  1. Allow system to cool down.

  2. Order and replace the Auto ECM.

  3. Image, install, and configure the Auto ECM.

    • Reference Special Instruction, REHS7346, "793F CMD Setup and Configuration Guide" .

Expected Result:

With new Auto ECM, EID 1487 clears.

Results:

  • With new Auto ECM, EID 1487 clears. - STOP

  • Code still active but on a different Auto ECM. - Proceed to Test Step 2

  • Code still active on same Auto ECM. Contact Caterpillar technical support with the information that has been gathered. - STOP
