Introduction

The problem that is identified has a known permanent solution. Use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

An inadvertent change was made to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7689, "C18 Marine Engine" during a revision.

The correct maintenance interval for Overhaul (Top End) is every 284,000 L (75,000 US gal) of fuel or 5,000 service hours. The correct maintenance interval for overhaul considerations is every 570,000 L (150,000 US gal) of fuel or 10,000 service hours.

Note: Use which ever occurs first in order to determine the maintenance intervals: fuel consumption, service hours, and calendar time.

Solution

The Operation and Maintenance Manual is being updated to reflect these changes.
