Button Panel - Test

This test should be performed with the propulsion engine NOT running to prevent unexpected vessel movement during the test. |
- Turn Keyswitch to the ON position for both engines. DO NOT start the engines.
- Place both handles in the IDLE/NEUTRAL position.
- Perform the Lamp Test.
- When the station is not active, press and hold the "SVM", "SYNC", and "N" (gear lockout) buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds. This will cause the lamps to flash at a rate of 1Hz (0.5 second ON, 0.5 second OFF). Pressing any button will cause the lamp test to stop, and all lamps to turn OFF.
- Connect a computer with Cat ET to the J1939 service connector.

- While monitoring the value for Station Active Button Status in Cat ET, Press and hold the "STATION ACTIVE" button on the button panel.
- The value should change from OFF to ON while the button is being pressed.
- Release the "STATION ACTIVE" button on the button panel.
- The value should change from ON to OFF when the button is released.
- The Station Active LED on the button panel should be ON.
- The Station Active Lamp Status in Cat ET should be ON.
Note: Perform this test if the optional Electronic Troll Processors (ETP) are installed.
- With the Station Active LED lit for the button panel under test, Select "Status Group #3" in Cat ET.
- While monitoring the value for Troll Button Status in Cat ET, press and hold the "TROLL" button on the button panel.
- The value should change from OFF to ON while the button is being pressed.
- Release the "TROLL" button on the button Panel.
- The Value should change from ON to OFF when the button is released.
- The Troll LED on the button panel should be ON.
- The Troll Lamp Status in Cat ET should be ON.
- Press and release the "TROLL" button.
- The Troll LED on the button panel should be OFF.
- The Troll Lamp Status in Cat ET should be OFF.

- With the Station Active LED lit for the button panel under test, Select "Status Group #3" in Cat ET.
- While monitoring the value for Sync Button Status in Cat ET, press and hold the "SYNC" button on the button panel.
- The value should change from OFF to ON while the button is being pressed.
- Release the "SYNC" button on the button Panel.
- The value should change from ON to OFF when the button is released.
- The Sync LED on the button panel should be ON.
- The Sync Lamp Status in Cat ET should be ON.
- Press and release the "SYNC" button.
- The Sync LED on the button panel should be OFF.
- The Sync Lamp Status in Cat ET should be OFF.

- With the Station Active LED lit for the button panel under test, Select "Status Group #3" in Cat ET.
- While monitoring the value for Slow Vessel Mode Button Status in Cat ET, press and hold the "SVM" button on the button panel.
- The value should change from OFF to ON while the button is being pressed.
- Release the "SVM" button on the button panel.
- The value should change from ON to OFF when the button is released.
- The SVM LED on the button panel should be ON.
- The Slow Vessel Mode Lamp Status in Cat ET should be ON.
- Press and release the "SVM" button.
- The SVM LED on the button panel should be OFF.
- The Slow Vessel Mode Lamp Status in Cat ET should be OFF.

- With the Station Active LED lit for the button panel under test, Select "Status Group #1" in Cat ET.
- While monitoring the value for Gear Lockout Button Status in Cat ET, press and hold the "N" button on the button panel.
- The value should change from OFF to ON while the button is being pressed.
- Release the "N" button on the button panel.
- The value should change from ON to OFF when the button is released.
- The N LED on the button panel should be ON.
- The Gear Lockout Lamp Status in Cat ET should be ON.
- Press and release the "N" button.
- The N LED on the button panel should be OFF.
- The Gear Lockout Lamp Status in Cat ET should be OFF.
