Crankshaft - Remove

Usage:

C7 PRY

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the connecting rod bearings. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Connecting Rod Bearings - Remove".
  2. Remove the front housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Housing (Front) - Remove".
  3. Remove the flywheel housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flywheel Housing - Remove and Install".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove bolts (2) and main bearing caps (3) .

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to each end of crankshaft (1). The weight of crankshaft (1) is approximately 62 kg (137 lb). Carefully remove crankshaft (1) from the cylinder block.

  1. Remove the main bearings from the cylinder block. Remove the main bearings from the main bearing caps.
