New Supplier for Glow Plugs {1254, 1254, 1412}

A customer may have a concern in the connection with the engine starting. Poor running of the engine after cold start-up

There have been a change of supplier of the 172-4585 Glow Plugs. The part number for the new 172-4585 glow plugs has not changed. The new glow plugs can be identified by a "PEC" symbol. Old glow plugs are supplied by "BERU". The old glow plugs can be identified with a "BERU" symbol on the body of the glow plugs. The "BERU" glow plugs should not be used."BERU" glow plugs that are in stock should be disposed of locally.

Failed glow plugs that have eroded tips must be replaced. The fuel injection nozzle on the failed cylinder must be checked. The fuel injection nozzle is removed in order to be checked. The damaged fuel injection nozzle must be replaced or repaired. For 3013 and 3024/C engines, refer to SENR5048 Disassembly and Assembly, "Glow Plugs - Remove and Install " and refer to SENR5048 Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Injection Nozzles - Remove and Install ". For 3024C engines, refer to RENR2424 Disassembly and Assembly, "Glow Plugs - Remove and Install " and refer to RENR2424 Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Injection Nozzles - Remove and Install ".
