K65-12B Voltage Regulator (1) Voltage adjustment |
Illustration 2 | g01021519 |
The Cat K65-12B Voltage Regulator presents an electrical shock/electrocution hazard. This hazard will cause serious injury or death. Service by trained personnel only. The terminals and heat sinks are live at hazardous voltages when power is applied and for up to 8 minutes after power is removed. |
Rotate the voltage adjustment (1) in the clockwise direction in order to increase the voltage. Rotate the voltage adjustment (1) in the counterclockwise direction in order to decrease the voltage.
When the jumper is installed between terminals 4 and 7, the nominal voltage of the generator can be varied over the operating range by using the voltage adjustment (1) .
In order to use an external voltage adjust rheostat, perform the following procedure:
- Stop the genset.
- Remove the jumper between terminals 4 and 7.
- Connect an external voltage adjust rheostat across terminals 6a and 7. The rheostat should be rated at 10 kOhm.
Note: On some gensets, the voltage adjust rheostat is located on the control panel.
- Turn the voltage adjustment (1) on the regulator in a fully clockwise direction in order for the external adjustment to operate properly.
