Adjustment Procedure for the Bumper for the Cab Door {7308}

(1) 178-2594 Bumper

The bumper (1) is used as the stop for the cab door. The bumper also provides the means for holding the door securely in the open position. See Illustration 1.

Incorrect adjustment of the bumper can result in breakage of the glass for the cab door. In order to ensure correct adjustment of the bumper, perform the adjustment procedure that is provided below.

  1. Remove the cover from the hold open latch release box which is located on the left wall of the operator compartment behind the seat. See Illustration 2.

  1. Loosen the locking nut (2) .

  1. From outside of the cab, adjust the bumper (1) so that the bumper is fully retracted.

  1. Open the door fully in order to engage the first stop of the hold open latch.

  1. Adjust the bumper (1) outward until the bumper contacts the door. Then, adjust the bumper outward for two additional turns.

    Note: The bumper should be slightly compressed against the glass.

  1. From the inside of the operator compartment, tighten the locking nut (2) .

  1. Release the door from the hold open latch.

  1. Check for correct adjustment by opening the door fully onto the hold open latch. Moderate force should be necessary in order for the door to engage the hold open latch.

  1. Replace the cover on the hold open latch release box.
