The ultrahigh demolition configuration is used in applications at extreme heights. The configuration is designed to lift a tool on a standard undercarriage.
The complete hydraulics of the excavator may only be used to position the demolition tool. This caution includes the rotate circuit. Using the hydraulics for rocking or dragging will cause damage to the excavator and the tool. Do not use the ultrahigh demolition configuration for any of the applications that follow.
- Do not lift objects.
- Do not use a grapple.
- Do not use a bucket.
- Do not use the front to apply pressure to the object that is being crushed.
- Do not use the swing function to apply pressure to the object that is being crushed.
Do not operate the boom outside of the recommended working range. Operating the boom outside of the recommended working range can cause the machine to become unstable and tip over. Alarm will sound if the boom is out of the recommended working range. Operating the boom outside of the recommended operating range can result in severe personal injury or death. |
The operating range is valid for 360 degrees. The operating range depends on the undercarriage and the maximum weight of the work tool. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7678, "Specifications" for the maximum weight of the work tool.
- Operating the demolition tool with a fully retracted linkage cylinder or a fully extended linkage cylinder can cause severe damage to the cylinder or to the hinge mechanism. Therefore, the full traverse area should not be used as a working area.

- The area of the center of gravity for the demolition tool includes the mounting bracket. This area should not extend more than
1500 mm (59 inch) from the stick nose.Show/hide tableTable 1 Restrictions on Demolition Tools (L) Center of gravity of tool 1500 mm (59 inch) (B) Safety area 10° (C) Safety area 10° - The mounting bracket of the tool must be designed to provide the following conditions: During working conditions, the tool is usually positioned so that the rod of the linkage cylinder is not extended past midstroke.
In the following illustrations, “S” is equal to the full cylinder stroke. Illustration 2 shows an incorrect design. Illustration 3 shows a correct design.

When the machine is in the ultrahigh demolition configuration, an alarm is activated. The alarm alerts the operator when the machine is operating outside of the operational area. When the machine is in the retrofit configuration, connect harness (1) in order to cancel the alarm.
