Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI32406" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The 2787020/">278-7020 Bumpers need to be replaced on certain M315D2 and M317D2 Wheel Excavators. The existing bumpers can become worn at early SMU. If the bumpers become worn, rigid friction could occur between the cover and blade cylinder when operating the blade. Over time the paint on the cylinder will become damaged. |

1. Lower the dozer blade to the ground, then park the machine as shown in Image1.1.1. Refer to SEBU9198, Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Operation Section, "Parking", for additional information. |
