Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Drain coolant to a suitable level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

  2. Remove bolts (1) and cover (2).

  3. Disconnect connectors (3). Remove clamps (4) and hoses (5).

  4. Remove bolts (6). Remove solenoid valve (7).

  5. Remove bolts (9). Remove solenoid valves (7) from bracket (8).

  6. Repeat Steps 2 through 5 for the remaining solenoid valves.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install solenoid valve (5) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten eight bolts (9) to a torque of 10 ± 1 N·m (89 ± 9lb in).
