The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
Smartphone type keys sent from Operator Management System (OMS) to an asset, even if unmodified on-board, may show as an invalid Bluetooth key when the on-board list synchronizes to OMS.
Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but a Permanent Repair has not been defined. A team is working on the issue to find resolution. As an interim action, users are requested to reenter the smartphone keys each time when the on-board list synchronizes to OMS.
Note: Until the issue is resolved, users will find some smartphone keys getting rejected when applying those keys to the OMS.
