This manual discusses the monitoring system that is used on the 793F and 797F Off Highway Trucks.
Details on the hardware components and the software that make up the monitoring system will be identified. This manual will also discuss the means of navigating through the various screens of the monitoring system.
The monitoring system continuously monitors all machine systems. The monitoring system consists of both software and hardware components. The monitoring system communicates with the ECM of other systems via the Cat® Data Link.
The monitoring system is used regardless of Vital Information Management System (VIMS) installation.
The hardware components of the standard monitoring system consist of the following:
- Instrument Cluster display
- Advisor display
- Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Level Gauge
The standard monitoring system can indicate warnings that have occurred in the ECM of other systems. These systems include the following:
- TPMS ECM
- Brake ECM
- Chassis ECM
- Product Link ECM
- Engine ECM
- GPS and Telemetry antenna
- Transmission ECM
See System Operation, Troubleshooting, and Test/Adjust, RENR8284 and System Operation, KENR5955 for more information on the VIMS and the Advisor.
