Start By:

  1. Remove the driveshaft (center).

  2. Tilt the cab (full tilt).

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.

Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.

Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.


  1. Drain the hydraulic oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" for the correct procedure.

  2. Remove bolts (2) and panel (1).

  3. Disconnect hose assembly (3).

  4. Disconnect hose assemblies (4) and (5).

  5. Remove bolt (6) and reposition cab tilt cylinder (7) out of the way.

  7. Disconnect hose assemblies (9) and (10).

  8. Disconnect harness assemblies (11) and hose assemblies (12).

  9. Disconnect hose assembly (13).

  10. Remove bolts (14) and reposition valve assembly (15) out of the way.

  11. Disconnect hose assembly (16).

  13. Disconnect linkage assembly (18).

  14. Remove bolts (20) and plate (19).

  15. Remove bolts (21). Discard bolts (21).

  16. Reposition driveshaft (22) out of the way.

  17. Remove tube assembly (23).

  18. Attach a suitable lifting device to piston motor (propel) (24). The weight of piston motor (propel) (24) is approximately 73 kg (160 lb).

  19. Remove bolts (25) and reposition piston motor (propel) (24) out of the way.

  20. Disconnect harness assembly (26).

  21. Remove bolts (28), bolts (29), and bracket (27).

  22. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to the transmission gearbox. The weight of the transmission gearbox is approximately 136 kg (300 lb).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the transmission gearbox in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of bolts (29).

    2. Tighten bolts (29) to a torque of 520 ± 70 N·m (384 ± 52 lb ft).

    3. Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of bolts (28).

    4. Tighten bolts (28) to a torque of 60 ± 12 N·m (44 ± 9 lb ft).

    5. Tighten bolts (21) to a torque of 120 ± 20 N·m (89 ± 15 lb ft).
