Problem:
The spark plug service life is 500 hours or less for G3600 Engines operating with the Caterpillar Ignition System (CIS) "Multi-Strike" feature enabled. The "Multi-Strike" feature is required to minimize the level of misfire that occurs in biogas applications.
Solution:
A permanent fix is being worked on, and will be released when identified. In the interim, to extend spark plug service life, do NOT use the CIS "Multi-Strike" feature in any application except biogas.
