When reporting the repair, use "PS43962" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

The existing V-Band Clamp can fail on certain 3512C HD and 3516C HD Marine Engines. If the existing clamp fails it may cause an exhaust leak.

This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer.

ACTION REQUIRED

Replace the band clamps. A new bellows and bellows to exhaust elbow gasket are also replaced.

Remove old clamp (2), bellows (1) and gasket (3). Retain bolts and washers (4 and 5) for reuse.

Lightly lubricate the threads and the inside channel of the V-band clamp (2) with a high temperature anti-seize. Orient the clamp for installation and set around the turbine outlet during assembly of the bellows to the exhaust elbow.

Inspect and clean bolts and washers (4 and 5), apply a coating of high temperature antiseize to the bolt under head and to the threads, install the new bellows (1) and gasket (3) onto the exhaust elbow (6) with the bolts and washers (4 and 5), and tighten.

Install the V-Band clamp (2) and tighten the clamp to 11 +/- 2 N.m (97 +/- 18 lb in).

Tap the clamp lightly around the circumference with a small hammer to seat the clamp.

Tighten the clamp again 11 +/- 2 N.m (97 +/- 18 lb in).
