Installation Procedure

Note: Make sure that all mounting surfaces are clean prior to installation.

1. Attach a suitable lifting device to both ends of oscillating axle (13). The weight of oscillating axle (13) is approximately 2220 kg (4900 lb).

2. Apply Tooling (A) to the mounting surfaces of the front trunnion support and the rear trunnion support. Apply Tooling (A) to the eight support bolts.

3. Raise oscillating axle (13) into position.

4. Install nuts (15) that hold rear trunnion support (8) to the rear loader frame. Tighten nuts (15) to a torque of 450 ± 50 N·m (332 ± 37 lb ft). Tighten nuts (15) an additional 120° ± 10°.

5. Install nuts (14) that hold front trunnion support (9) to the rear loader frame. Tighten nuts (14) to a torque of 450 ± 50 N·m (332 ± 37 lb ft). Tighten nuts (14) an additional 120° ± 10°.

   Note: Install suitable blocks between the rear axle housing and the rear main frame on both sides of the machine. This will prevent the axle housing from oscillating during the installation procedure.

6. Connect tube assembly (11) and hose assembly (12).

7. Connect hose assembly (10) in the top of front trunnion support (9).

8. Connect hose assembly (7) in the top of rear trunnion support (8).

9. Connect hose assemblies (5) and (6).

10. Connect harness assembly (3) and install cover plate (4)

11. Connect hose assembly (1) and cover plate (2).

12. Fill the oscillating axle. The capacity of the oscillating axle is approximately 87 L (23 US gal).

Note: Purge air from braking system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Brake System Air - Purge".

End By:

1. Install side panels.

2. Install rear drive shaft.

3. Install crankcase guard.
