A maximum of three shims per side should be used. If the gap is greater than 2 mm (0.08 inch) or the gap is less than 4 mm (0.16 inch), add one shim. If the gap is greater than 4 mm (0.16 inch) or the gap is less than 6 mm (0.24 inch), add two shims. If the gap is greater than 6 mm (0.27 inch) or the gap is less than 8 mm (0.32 inch), add three shims. |
