Operating Conditions

KG30 Governor Control Unit & LMG 03 Loadshare Unit

The KG30 Governor Control Unit and the LMG 03 Loadshare Unit are designed to operate within a temperature range of -55 to +70°C (-67 to +160°F). The units may be mounted in any position if the required ventilation is available for cooling, and it is not in a high vibration area.

Do not mount the governor control unit or loadshare unit near very high temperature areas or strong magnetic fields. They must not be mounted on the engine, and should have space available for servicing, repair and adjustment.

The governor control unit and kilowatt loadshare unit covers must be removed for mounting since the mounting holes are under the covers. The KG30 and LMG 03 should be mounted close together and close to additional units at a multi-generator site to reduce resistance in the wiring. High electrical resistance in the wiring can effect load sharing accuracy.

Magnetic Pickup Installation

The gap between the flywheel ring gear and magnetic pickup pole is normally 0.5 to 0.8 mm (.02 to .03 in). With engine stopped, turn magnetic pickup in until it comes in contact with a gear tooth. Now back pickup out approximately 1/2 turn.
