A Steering Sensor Guard is Now Used on Certain 797F Off-Highway Trucks {1408, 1439, 430S, 7150} Caterpillar

Description Of Change: A steering sensor guard is now used on the machines listed above. The new steering sensor guard protects the connector and sensor body in this location.

Follow the rework procedure given below to install new bracket (1) and bracket assembly (2).

(A) 221-3405 Pressure Sensor Gp (B) 214-7568 O-Ring Seal (C) 204-2281 Cable Strap (D) 8T-5005 Bolt (E) 8T-4121 Hard Washer

1. Remove bolt (D) and discard the part.

   Inspect pressure sensor group (A), cable strap (C), hard washer (E) and replace if needed.

   Note: Replace O-Ring seal (B) if the pressure sensor group is removed from manifold.

   Secure manifold along with the hose.

   Note: Clean the connector if required.

2. Assemble bracket assembly (1) and grommet (3).

3. Assemble manifold along with hose assembly secured in Step 1.

4. Install Pressure sensor group (4) using O-Ring seal (5), two cable straps (6), two hard washers (7), two bolts (8) and plate (9).

5. Install bracket (2) using two bolts (10) and two hard washers (7).
