New Fuel Lines Are Available on Certain C18 Marine Engines {1274}

Usage:

C18 GBM
Generator Set:
C18 MARINE (S/N: GBM1-UP)
Marine Engine:
C18 (S/N: GES1-UP; KJT1-UP)
C18 (S/N: J2K1-UP; T2P1-UP)

The new fuel lines that are available for the C18 Marine engines have higher resistance to bending and twisting.

Table 1 contains the required parts to install the new fuel lines. The procedure that follows covers the installation steps.

Personal injury or death may result from failure to adhere to the following procedures.

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.

Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.

Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.

Assembly instructions to replace the 221-8209 Hose As for the fuel transfer pump.

  1. Remove the existing 221-8209 Hose As and the 250-1424 Elbow As .

  1. Install o-ring seal (1) and o-ring seal (2) on elbow (8). Install the elbow assembly into the fuel transfer pump.

  1. Install o-ring seal (2) onto the existing connection.

  1. Install hose assembly (5) and tighten the connections.

  1. Check for fuel leaks after starting the engine.

Assembly instructions to replace the 148-7027 Hose As fuel filter outlet for right-hand service simplex arrangements.

  1. Remove the 148-7027 Hose As and the 370-6297 Connector As .

  1. Install o-ring seal (2) and o-ring seal (4) on connector (9) .

  1. Install connector (9) into the fuel filter base and install the existing elbow assembly (10) onto the connector.

  1. Install o-ring seal (2) onto each end of hose assembly (6) .

  1. Install hose assembly (6) using the angle of degrees indicated in Illustration 2 and 3.

Assembly instructions to replace the 187-4085 Hose As fuel filter inlet for right-hand service simplex arrangements.

    (11) 329-5511 Elbow As

  1. Remove the 187-4085 Hose As .

  1. Install o-ring seal (2) on each connection for hose assembly (7) .

  1. Install hose assembly (7) to elbow assembly (11) using the angle of degree indicated in Illustration 4, to avoid interference with surrounding components.
