A New High Pressure Fuel Pump and Adapter Are Used on C175-16 Petroleum Engines {1251, 1251, 1290}

Usage:

C175-16 P6L
Engine:
C175-16 (S/N: P6L1-UP)

Description of Change: The new pump design retains oil at the bottom of the sump. The oil provides additional lubrication to the lower end of the pump especially, on initial startup.

Adaptable To: A new 359-2806 Fuel Injection Pump Gp or 359-5546 Fuel Injection Pump Gp and 354-1562 Pump Adapter are released into production on the Petroleum C175 engines.

The 359-2806 Fuel Injection Pump Gp is used with non-redundant control equipped engines.

The 359-5546 Fuel Injection Pump Gp is used with redundant control equipped engines.

The old 341-8300 High Pressure Fuel Pump and the 341-8302 Fuel Injection Pump Gp are not compatible with the new 354-1562 Plugged Adapter. The new adapter would prevent the oil from draining out of the old pump, causing a failure. By updating with the new fuel pump and new adapter you will gain the new wet sump design.

The replacement pump will need to be initially filled with oil utilizing a hand priming pump or the on-engine prelube pump, if equipped. Oil capacity is approximately 900 mL (30.6 oz). At the oil change interval the pump will need to be drained and filled.

The pump change is effective with serial number P6L00112.

The addition of the adapter that gives the oil retention capability is effective with serial number P6L00112.
