电子控制模块（ECM）将会自动提供起动发动机所需的正确的油量。 盘车起动发动机时不应踩下油门。 如果发动机在 30 秒钟内无法起动，应释放起动马达开关。 再次使用之前，应允许起动马达冷却 2 分钟。

当冷却液温度低于
启动冷起动策略时，低怠速转速将会被提高到1000 rpm，发动机的功率将会被限制。
符合下述任一情况时，冷起动模式操作就会停用：
- 冷却液温度达到
18 °C (64 °F) 。 - 发动机已经运转了 14 分钟。
冷起动模式操作改变喷油量以清除白烟。 冷起动模式操作也通过改变正时以清除白烟。 通常在绕机检查结束之前就可以达到发动机工作温度。 发动机将在编程设定的低怠速转速下运转，等待挂档。
冷起动模式结束之后，发动机应在低转速运转，直到发动机达到正常工作温度。 当发动机运行在低转速和低功率需求时，达到正常工作温度的时间要快些。
