Module - Flash Program

Flash Program The AccuGrade Electronic Control Module (ECM)

Perform the following procedure in order to flash program the AccuGrade ECM. The ECM is flashed in order to upgrade the software. The new software will allow the ECM to communicate with the AccuGrade System. The Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) contains the program WinFlash. WinFlash is used in order to load software into the ECM. The following procedure is used in order to FLASH software into the ECM.

Procedure
1. Connect the 7X-1425 Data Link Cable between the 7X-1700 Communication Adapter and the Electronic Technician.
1. Connect the 139-4166 Data Link Cable between the 7X-1700 Communication Adapter and the diagnostic connector of the machine.
1. Use WinFlash in order to load the software. Refer to Table 2 for the part number of the software.

Note: Flash programming is NOT allowed if the engine is running, or the machine is moving.

Flash Program The AccuGrade GPS Components

Perform the following procedure in order to flash program the system components. The system components are flashed in order to upgrade the software. The new software will allow the system components to communicate with the ECM and each other. The Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) contains the program WinFlash. WinFlash is used in order to load software into the system components. The following procedure is used in order to FLASH software into the system components.

NOTICE

Do not stop the process. The ECM will be damaged and need to be replaced.

Procedure
1. Connect the 7X-1425 Data Link Cable between the 7X-1700 Communication Adapter and the Electronic Technician.
1. Connect the 139-4166 Data Link Cable between the 7X-1700 Communication Adapter and the diagnostic connector of the machine.
1. Use WinFlash in order to load the software. Refer to Table 2 for the part number of the software.
