Oil Cooler (Brake) - Install

Usage:

776D AFS

Installation Procedure

Note: Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary. Replace all of the gaskets prior to assembly. Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed. Clean all of the components with a cloth that is free of loose material (lint).

  1. Clean the core assembly of brake oil cooler (1) with a suitable rod, as shown.

  1. Position a suitable lifting sling around brake oil cooler (1). Secure the lifting sling to a suitable hoist. Lift brake oil cooler (1) into position, as shown. The weight of the brake oil cooler is 50 kg (110 lb).

  1. Position a new gasket and bonnet (16) on brake oil cooler (1). Install six bolts (15) that hold bonnet (16) in position on brake oil cooler (1) .

  1. Position a new gasket and bonnet (17) on brake oil cooler (1). Install six bolts (18) that hold bonnet (17) in position on brake oil cooler (1) .

  1. Install two bolts (11), the full nuts, and the washers that hold bracket (12) to the frame assembly.

  1. Position a new gasket and elbow (13) on the brake oil cooler. Install four bolts (14) that hold elbow (13) in position.

  1. Position diverter valve (7), tube assembly (3), and elbow (10) on brake oil cooler (1). Install four bolts (8) and the hard washers that hold diverter valve (7) to brake oil cooler (1). Install four bolts (9) and the hard washers that hold elbow (10) to brake oil cooler (1) .

  1. Connect hose assemblies (2), (4), (5), and (6) to tube assembly (3) .

    Note: Hose assemblies (2) and (4) are only present on machines that are equipped with oil cooled brakes for the front wheels.

  1. Fill the radiator with coolant to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".

End By: Remove the body retaining pins. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pin (Body Retaining) - Remove and Install".
