Thickness of four shims ... 0.05 mm (0.002 inch)
Thickness of four shims ... 0.25 mm (0.010 inch)
Thickness of four shims ... 1.0 mm (0.040 inch)

Note: Apply 4C-5593 Anti-Seize Compound to the taper of the motor shaft prior to assembly.

This procedure will determine the thickness of shims (4) that will be required to install fan spider assembly (1) .

  1. Assemble fan adapter (3) and tighten bolt (2) to a torque of 100 ± 20 N·m (75 ± 15 lb ft).

  1. Measure the gap between plate (5) and the end of the motor shaft.

  1. Subtract 0.40 ± 0.05 mm (0.016 ± 0.002 inch) from the dimension that was measured in Step 2.

  1. Install shims (4) that have a thickness of the dimension that was calculated in Step 3. Tighten bolt (2) to a torque of 1800 ± 200 N·m (1320 ± 150 lb ft).
