Battery or Battery Cable - Inspect/Replace

Usage:

CB-535B 3AR


  1. Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position. Turn all switches to the OFF position.

  1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. Remove the battery disconnect switch key.

  1. At the battery disconnect switch, disconnect the negative battery cable that is connected to the frame.

    Note: Do not allow the disconnected battery cables to contact the disconnect switch. Do not allow the disconnected battery cables to contact the other cables. Do not allow the disconnected battery cables to contact the opposite terminal of either battery.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery.

  1. Disconnect the battery cable from the first battery.

  1. Remove the negative battery cable from the second battery. This will allow you to remove the cable.

  1. Remove the + battery cable from the second battery. In order to remove the cable that connects the two batteries, you must remove two clamps. The two clamps are located under the radiator at the rear of the machine.

  1. Remove the cable from the starter.

  1. Perform the necessary repairs. Replace the cables or the batteries, as needed.

  1. Reverse the above steps in order to reconnect the batteries.

  1. Connect the battery cable at the battery disconnect switch.

  1. Install the battery disconnect switch key. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.

  1. Install the battery compartment covers.
